The 2009 English Teaching Mentor Program

The U.S. Embassy Public Diplomacy section is now accepting applications for the 2009 English Teaching Mentor program. The program will provide at least four intensive trainings in English language teaching per year with American professionals. The trainings will be held in Dushanbe and Khujand. Additionally, participants will be encouraged to develop a network of fellow teachers with whom to exchange ideas during and after the program.

Qualified applicants will be teachers of English at the primary or secondary level with a demonstrated intent to mentor and teach other teachers. They will be expected to spend at least eight days during the school year in training in Dushanbe or Khujand. Travel costs will be financed by the U.S. Embassy. There may be additional options for longer-term training during the summer.

To apply, please fill out the attached application and return it to the Public Diplomacy Section, U.S. Embassy Dushanbe by January 30, 2009.

Selected candidates will be contacted for phone interviews in the English language.
