Reception for American students and alumni of U.S. Government exchange programs
On July 15, 2008 Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson hosted a reception for the 25 American students currently studying Tajik, Farsi and Uzbek in Dushanbe and U.S. Government exchange program alumni who recently returned from the United States. About 80 guests representing educational institutions and non-governmental organizations were in attendance. This event provided an opportunity for talented young people to meet and exchange experiences in their countries. It also emphasized the two-way nature of U.S. Government-sponsored exchange programs.
