AMBASSADOR JACOBSON AWARDED CERTIFICATES TO ANTI-TERRORISM TRAINING PARTICIPANTS

On November 21 United States Ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson congratulated 19 members of Tajikistan's Ministry of Interior and the State Committee on National Security for completing the two week training course on “Police Leader’s Role in Combating Terrorism,” sponsored by the State Department's Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program.  The course is designed to provide mid-level and senior law enforcement managers (future police executives) with an innovative techniques to maximize their ability to combat terrorism. The course included leadership, management, strategic planning and information sharing to ensure the success of police leaders in institutionalizing anti-terrorism initiatives.

The Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program has delivered many training activities to Tajik law enforcement and governmental officers, conducted both in Tajikistan and in the U.S.  Since 2002, over 326 people have participated in ATA-sponsored training activities at an estimated cost of over $6 million.
