Ambassador Jacobson sends New Year's greetings to the people of Tajikistan

Dushanbe, Tajikistan. In her interview with Radio Liberty December 28, 2007 Ambassador Jacobson passed her greetings to the people of Tajikistan and wished them all stability and prosperity in the New Year. As for the highlights of joint U.S.-Tajik cooperation in 2007, the Ambassador noted the opening in August of the U.S. Government funded Nizhniy Pyanj Bridge and more than $45 million in assistance programs invested in such sectors as security, education, and economic and democratic development. She said that the United States Government will continue its development programs in Tajikistan in 2008 and expressed hope for continued productive cooperation for the benefit of the Tajik people.
