Travel Routes
Transatlantic Routes
There are no direct transatlantic routes to and from the Dushanbe airport. Major European carriers are not present in Tajikistan yet; the nearest conveniently located airport is the Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan.
Turkish Airlines has flights from the United States to Istanbul (Ata Turk International Airport). Travelers can also transfer at this airport to Tajikistan Airlines on scheduled weekly Istanbul-Dushanbe flight, operated by Tajikistan Airlines. Tajikistan Airlines also has scheduled weekly direct flights from Sharjah (United Arab Emirates) to Dushanbe. Travelers can arrive to Dubai International Airport and transfer to Sharjah International Airport.
Continental Routes
There are several entry ways to Dushanbe from Eurasia. The most frequently used routes are Almaty-Dushanbe, Moscow-Dushanbe (transit through these cities will require respective visas.to be obtained in advance) and Munich-Dushanbe via Istanbul.
International flights are operated by the domestic state owned aviation enterprise, Tajikistan Airlines on Tupolev and Yak aircrafts.
Almaty-Dushanbe
Currently Tajikistan Airlines has scheduled flights on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. No other airline flies to Dushanbe from Almaty.

Moscow-Dushanbe
Entry via Moscow may seem convenient for those who have Russian visas and already have experience traveling in Moscow, including possible transfer between airports. Scheduled Moscow-Dushanbe flights are available everyday from Domodedovo Airport.
