Information for Travelers

Tajik Visa Regulations

Before applying for Tajik visa, visitors should obtain a letter of invitation.

Visas are issued at Dushanbe airport, or at an Embassy of Tajikistan in the United States.  Tajik visas cannot be obtained at land borders, so if you are arriving overland you must obtain your visa in advance from an embassy.

Letter of Invitation

The letter of invitation (visa support) can be issued by any organization or company registered in Tajikistan, but it must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dushanbe.  The invitation letter needs to specify the following information:

  • Name, nationality and passport numbers of all the invited parties.
  • Arrival and departure dates.  You do not have to travel on the exact dates specified, but your visa will not be valid outside of those dates.  You may not arrive before, or
stay beyond, the dates given in the letter of invitation.
  • Name of the inviting organization.
